Local Member of Parliament Jon Trickett (Hemsworth, Labour) visited Cohens Chemist in Featherstone today (20 November 2015) and heard about the work being done to support patients through the Pharmacy Care Plan service.
Cohens Chemist is one of the independent pharmacies delivering the Pharmacy Care Plan service. It recently established a new pharmacy in Featherstone Medical Centre and the MP was briefed during its official opening. Sageer Sharif, Pharmacist Manager at Cohens, spoke to Mr Trickett during the visit and told him about what we are doing.

“The MP said that our service plays an important role in supporting patients not only with their medicines but also with their lifestyles.”

Mr Sharif says that the Pharmacy Care Plan service has been a huge success for his pharmacy and the team there. “Our patients have had a very positive and rewarding experiences, and in some cases have found it life-changing.” He added that pharmacy team members have also benefited from developing new skills, such as taking measurements from patients and helping them to agree and achieve their health goals.
